Wine Maker Dinners

Does a 7-course dinner paired with 14 wines sound exciting AND daunting? Then it's time to put yourself into the hands of a master. Many wineries now offer Winemaker Dinners to which the public can make reservations. During these, visitors can share a table with the wine maker, and explore the combination of a unique gastronomical menu and special reserve wines.

The following is a sample winemaker dinner menu. As you can see, interesting and rare ingredients are favored:

  • Beet Curd and Goats Cheese Sandwich with 2006 Rutherford Chardonnay
  • Nantucket Bay Scallops, Truffled Sunchoke Puree and Cara-Cara Oranges, with 2007 Rutherford Chardonnay
  • Seared Duck Breast, d'Anjou pears, Saffron Puree, Caramelized Cippolinis and Chicories with 2005 Rutherford Pinot Noir
  • Selections of artisan cheeses with 2006 Rutherford Pinot Noir

These events are not offered regularly.  Prices can range from $100 - $500 per person depending on the venue.
