Winery Reviews

Real Comments from Real Visitors

Our winery reviews come from visitors after they have completed their winery tour or wine tasting event. We believe that the best people to review and recommend a winery are the visitors. Our reviews are part of a closed system and require that a reviewer first visit a winery before they can post a review. This will protect the integrity of the reviews and ratings and provide you with the best information for selecting a winery to visit.

These reviews are a valuable tool that will help wineries to improve their visitors’ experiences.

Writing a Helpful Winery Review

  1. Keep it short and sweet. Most readers like to quickily skim several different reviews.
  2. Be specific. Which tour did you take? Who was the tour guide? What wines did you try? This feedback is not only helpful to readers, but also to winery owners.
  3. Be fair. If you have a great time, be honest, but watch the superlatives. And if you have a not-so-great-time, resisit the urge to "rant," but provide constructive feedback. You can bet the winery owners want to make sure you have the best experience possible.

Sample Winery Review

The Artesa Vineyards & Winery is an architectural wonder. Part Mayan Temple, and part crystal palace, it's carved into the lush Napa hillside, which means a grass roof. Stand atop the hillside in front, and you can enjoy amazing art installations, water features, and a stunning 360 degree view of the Napa Valley.

Inside is a clean, airy modern art studio with high ceilings, lots of glass, and pale wood. I tried a flight that included a 2004 Cab, a 2007 Chardonnay, and a 2004 Merlot. It was a Thursday afternoon, so the tasting room wasn't packed, but simply abuzz with a respectable amount of traffic. The winery staff were very polite and engaging, with a professional and non-intrusive demeanor.

Favorite moment: sitting at a small table in front of a 20 foot tall window staring at the entire Napa Valley while sipping a 2007 Pinot Noir.

Tour: the vineyard tour was fascinating, with just the right amount of science, lore and history.

I will come back again and can't wait to bring friends and family with me.
